Fun at the Lake

Greetings All
We've recently been introduced to literal "island of calm" here in crazy El Salvador - it's called Teopan and is a small island in Lake Coatepeque, a huge, beautiful lake about an hour from our apartment. Our friends Celina and Ken invited us to spend a weekend with them at their family's house.

Celina's ready -

and show's us how to slalom

"I haven't done this in a while..."

"Monster", Celina's dachsund, enjoys boating too!

"Oh Yeah!"

We really love the quiet and serenity of Coatepeque and wish we had learned about it much earlier in our tour. Now we know it's charms we'll spend as much of our free time in El Salvador there as we can. More to follow soon, but until then we hope you like this post!

Visitors!

Hi All
Time to catch up since we returned from our magnificent Galapagos adventure.
In March we traveled to Panama with our friends Maria, Rich, Michelle, Chris, Fish and Yo Yo. One day we all took the Panama Canal Rauilroad through the canal to the city of Colon...

From Colon we traveled by rental van to the amazing Gatun locks...

From Gatun it was on to historic Fuerte San Lorenzo, the former choke point for all the gold and silver the Spanish looted from the Inca

The following day some of our group traveled to a village of the Embera tribe, an indigenous people who live much as they did centuries ago.
